UBL – Complex Logistics Project: Dubai to Israel with Antonov 124

UBL successfully managed the transport of a 43-ton, 15-meter-long rotor from a factory in Dubai to the Orot Yosef power station in Ramat Hovav, Israel.

Due to Houthi missile threats, the aircraft couldn’t land in Israel. The creative solution: landing in Larnaca, Cyprus, followed by sea freight to Israel.

The operation included:

  • Ground transport in Dubai
  • Air freight via heavy-lift aircraft
  • Maritime shipping from Cyprus
  • Full crane and handling coordination
  • 72 hours from supplier in Dubai to site in Israel.

Total Movements Multimodal Movement of Vacuum Tower along the Indian Coastline

This Door-to-Port complex movement of 375 Ton Vacuum Tower, from the western to the eastern coast of India had to overcome significant logistical and environmental challenges.

Total Movements comprehensive logistics scope included picking up the cargo from supplier’s works, transporting it to the load port on the western coast, coastal shipping to the discharge port on the eastern coast of India, and managing the discharge process.

Key highlights of this challenging operation include:

  1. Opted for Multimodal (Road + Coastal) shipping to bypass geographical and infrastructural constraints.
  2. Critical oversized cargo dimensions of 55.73 x 10 x 9.45 meters (L x W x H).
  3. Customized transport configuration & mobilized suitable equipment to adhere to weight and space restrictions at the load port.
  4. Obtained 16 electric line shutdowns along the route, enabling smooth passage without compromising safety.
  5. Major civil works at critical turning points, including deploying 100+ steel plates to stabilize weak sections and ensure safe maneuvering.
  6. Mitigated weather impacts as the movement was conducted in monsoons.
  7. Chartering a Super Heavy Lift vessel and converting it to an Indian-flagged vessel for coastal shipping.
  8. Executed seamless double banking operations at the discharge port under stringent Marine Warranty Surveyor supervision.
