The essential workers that facilitate the global flow of goods – while getting little attention – are the seafarers of the World. They do their work on ships globally seven days a week for months at a time. They live – even more than usual during COVID – in steel prisons. Going ashore for some relaxing time is already rarer without a corona pandemic and is now completely impossible. A flight home at the end of the contract is unthinkable after months on-board due to the numerous travel restrictions. The idea of the Port Concerts is to lift the spirits of the seafarers and let them know that they are appreciated.

The operations follow strict food compliance regulations. Stacks imported the liner bags from Holland, arranged fitting of bags/bulkheads & dry bags, manual loading of the kernels, tilting of the containers for optimized loading, freight, and delivery to Aarhus, Denmark.

Humanity is going through unprecedented times and the news along with negativity is impacting our lives, in this situation we can still find positivity. Prarthana Shinde shared an uplifting story and photo on a phone call with Cross Ocean last week.

“In my yard there is a large tree where we usually only see normal birds like crows and sparrows, but in this lockdown we are now experiencing new species. We witnessed a dazzling sea of pink in our area when thousands of flamingo appeared along the creek, in the middle of a lockdown, it’s a beautiful scenario.”

Cross Ocean members Transport Overseas in Bremen and LS Cargo China managed a full charter 777F of 450cbm and 73tons medical equipment from Shanghai to Bremen. The team had only 7 days to coordinate cargo delivery, packing, customs clearance and inspection in China. The cargo was urgently needed medical equipment for the Senate of Bremen. ??

Shanghai Beetle Recent Shipment

Total two packages with dimension & weight of: 5.65 x 3.7m / 24000kgs | 5.65 x 2.5m / 10000kgs

Due to COVID-19, Shipper made the final decision and signed the fixture note 2 days ahead of the vessel berthing at Shanghai Port.
Luckily the factory was not far from the port, in only one day’s time the cargo was delivered to the terminal and processed by customs before loading.
